Westfield Health delighted to help DB4C

Doncaster Business for the Community Launches New Fundraiser.

Our Patron Westfield Health in conjunction with Doncaster Business for the Community is proud to announce the launch of yet another ground breaking and unique fundraising initiative in their growing sporting calendar.

The “10TenK” Challenge will consist of participants taking part in ten 10k running events of their choice over the course of this year and recruitment of 100 runners each signing up to raise £100 each has already begun. Runners will be able to choose to run in 10k races being held in both the UK and worldwide calendar if they wish.

The initiative is being organised and managed by DB4C in partnership with Westfield Health, which once again brings together two organisations who are committed to promoting health and well being not only in the workplace but also in the wider community.

David Capper, CEO Westfield Health “Westfield Health are delighted to help DB4C bring yet another fantastic event to the calendar.  Physical activity really is the miracle cure to so many preventable diseases and anything we can do to help get more people active is a positive move.”

This year’s beneficiary of funds raised by participants in the “10TenK” Challenge will be the Children’s Air Ambulance, a lifesaving transfer service for critically ill babies and children who also fly medical teams and bespoke equipment turning our local hospitals into specialist treatment centres.

Sharon Evans, Community Fundraising Executive Said “ It is such a pleasure and a privilege to be working with Doncaster Business for the Community again this year, to help raise both funds and awareness for the lifesaving work of The Children’s Air Ambulance, the country’s only dedicated flying intensive care unit.

We are thrilled to have this invaluable support and we are enormously grateful to everyone who gets involved in this inspiring 10TenK 2020 challenge”.

Registration for anyone wishing to take part in the “10TenK” Challenge will be through a dedicated landing page on the DB4C website (www.db4c.org.uk/10tenkchallenge ).

Tim Shaw, Chairman of DB4C commented:

“At DB4C we are not just about supporting local causes and charities, we are also about improving the health and wellbeing of business employers and their staff throughout the Doncaster area and this is an excellent example of our work with a unique challenge to complete ten 10k races in just twelve months. It represents an opportunity to not only improve your health and fitness but also to raise much need funds for the Children’s Air Ambulance service.”
