Traps open for the Chamber’s Summer events programme

Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber is setting its sights on the winning post with its first summer social of the year, which will see guests head to Owlerton Stadium to enjoy an evening of greyhound racing.

A Night at the Dogs takes place on Friday 16th June and forms part of the Chamber’s social events calendar, which brings together business owners, friends and family in an informal environment to enjoy a full card of greyhound racing from the comfort of Owlerton’s VIP hospitality suite, as well at tote betting facilities, waitress services and a hot and cold buffet.

It is one of the social events which will take place this year and greyhound racing was chosen following the success of previous activities organised by Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber, including visiting the St Leger, and a recent charity quiz night used to raise funds for the Chamber’s Charity of the Year, as well as a number of other activities.

“Greyhound racing is a unique experience, particularly as it’s something which can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Unlike many of our usual business events which are exclusively available to businesses, we’re extending the invitation to friends and family of our members, which promises to create a truly unique social evening.

“In recent years our social programme has included regular annual events such as a trip to the St Leger, as well as a range of other activities including our recent charity quiz night. Social events help our members to build stronger relationships outside of the boardroom and with a limited number of tickets available for our Night at the Dogs, tickets are already in high demand.

“A Night at the Dogs is just one of a number of events we are to host this year. In the coming months we have a wide ranging calendar of events available on our website, with upcoming events including further ‘Meet the Experts’ workshops, speed networking and a Rotherham MP’s Forum which offers Chamber members the chance to quiz Rotherham MP’s on current burning business issues.”
