• Better Skills Planning: To boost investment in skills, we call for better skills planning that unites businesses and training providers, addressing skills shortages and supporting sustainable career opportunities for all.
• Business Rates Reform: A crucial reform in business rates is needed to encourage growth and investment, shaping a resilient South Yorkshire economy for the future.
• Improved Relations with the European Union: Enhancing our relations with the EU is vital to reducing costs for businesses, and we advocate for improved UK trading terms with our largest partner.
• Digital Revolution: We fully support the British Chambers of Commerce’s initiative for a Digital Revolution, urging the new government to appoint an AI champion for SMEs. This would spearhead the adoption of new technologies, boosting productivity and competitiveness in our region.
