As the Coronavirus pandemic continues to play havoc with global buying patterns, Event Structure supplier Gala Tent remains active and open for business. Because of the mass restrictions on outdoor gatherings – usually the company’s bread and butter – of any kind, the direction has had to change, and they are still providing a service for emergency cover, as well as shelter at essential stores and business premises, and a home-bound nation.
At the moment, 90% of the Gala team are working from home, thanks to the award-winning homeworking payment solution, SOTpay.
To ensure social distancing measures are adhered to, hundreds of vets, pharmacies, convenience stores, and some supermarkets are forced in to a one in, one out scenario, and the services of Gala Tent have recently been enlisted to provide cover.
Veterinary Hospitals are having a similar problem. Pets are part of the family too and still require an emergency service. With the current Covid 19 restrictions, they are unable to bring clients inside the hospital, so they are having to use our car park as a makeshift consulting area for the patients that need to be seen. This also allows them to examine those dogs who become nervous inside the building without their owners whilst maintaining a safe distance according to the current regulations.
Managing Director Jason Mace, said, ” A Gala Tent is the ideal solution for this providing shelter from any inclement weather, and privacy for staff, patients and customers whilst still adhering to the government restrictions. It’s great to see how diverse our service can be to add value to business at this time. I don’t think any company will come out of this crisis unscathed, but we must remain positive and provide a service where we can. Giving up is not an option, creativity is required.”
Gala are also seeing an increase in enquiries for home workers looking to bring the outside in, where individuals trapped at home can still work, play and rest under a Gala Tent cover.
Darren Perry, Sales Manager at Gala Tent said, “The applications the tents are being purchased for are quite varied, pork pie production, for example is one of my favourites, or a home judo centre for the duration of the crisis. Others are digging out their old frames and giving them a new lease of life with fresh canopies. We’re here to provide cover to anybody and anything.”
Mace also added, “If the government does shut the door on business, I have already informed staff they will be paid in full until this pandemic is over.”
Founded in 1999, Gala Tent has grown to sell over 15,000 tents and marquees each year, along with around 90,000 event accessories and furniture products in the UK.
In the UK, Gala Tent is a preferred supplier for organisations including the military, NHS, the South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service, South Yorkshire Police Service, St John’s Ambulance and AA, as well as to thousands of homeworkers nationally.
