Introducing the Planning and Property Forum: Building Bridges for Regional Progress

The newly established Planning and Property Forum is a vital platform for collaboration and progress in South Yorkshire’s property sector. Born from the recognition of pressing challenges faced by both businesses and local authorities, the forum aims to bridge the gap between stakeholders.

Prompted by feedback from our membership, the Chamber took decisive action to launch this dedicated forum, recognising the need for a platform to address common issues and unlock opportunities for growth. With the region’s residential, retail and commercial needs in focus and a determination to overcome planning bottlenecks, the forum stands for proactive engagement and collective problem-solving.

By bringing together senior professionals, local authorities, and key stakeholders, the forum aims to streamline processes, stimulate economic growth, and create a vibrant, resilient property landscape.

The aims of the forum are to

Facilitating Collaboration: The forum aims to provide a platform for property professionals to collaborate, exchange ideas, and work together towards common goals.
Streamlining Planning Processes: By creating stronger links between local authorities and the business community, the forum seeks to streamline planning processes, reducing delays in obtaining permissions for development projects.
Addressing Sector-wide Challenges: Through regular meetings and discussions, the forum aims to identify and address common challenges faced by the property sector in South Yorkshire.
Enhancing Connectivity: The forum seeks to improve connections between local communities by supporting development plans that enhance infrastructure and public services, contributing to the overall well-being of the region.
Advocating for Resources: Recognising the challenges faced by local planning departments, the forum aims to advocate for adequate resources and support to enable efficient decision-making and planning implementation.

SEARCH_SAMESITE	6 months	This cookie is used to prevent the browser from sending this cookie along with cross-site requests. The main goal is mitigate the risk of cross-origin information leakage. It also provides some protection against cross-site request forgery attacks.
