Introduction

This course helps to prepare the learner to become a recognised PRINCE2 Practitioner. The purpose of the practitioner qualification is to confirm you have achieved sufficient understanding of how to apply and tailor PRINCE2 in a scenario situation. This builds on the knowledge and understanding you’ll already have gained from the foundation qualification – which forms the prerequisite for this course and for the practitioner qualification.

During the course, you’ll study the PRINCE2 methodology at an advanced level and practise analysing and evaluating scenarios similar to those presented in the actual examination. The instructor will provide time-tested strategies to help you successfully approach the examination.

Audience
The audience for this event are existing holders of the foundation qualification wishing to gain practitioner status. The course is also suitable for practitioners wishing to prepare themselves for re-registration. In either case the delegate will need to ensure that their knowledge at the PRINCE2 Foundation level is fresh in their memory and easily recalled.

At Course Completion
After completing this course, students will be able to:

• Understand the benefits and principles underlying a structured approach to project management
• Apply the principles of PRINCE2 within a work environment
• Operate effectively with colleagues and managers within a structured project management environment

Course Outline
The course is a mixture of input and practical sessions, delivered by an APM Group approved trainer with practical experience of project management.

A pre-event preparation pack including reading and specially written software will be sent to everyone attending this event. The course is built around the latest APM Group syllabus and features an interesting case study to illustrate the PRINCE2 method and help delegates understand its concepts.

Day One

Attendees will already be knowledgeable in PRINCE2 to a minimum of Foundation level and will have succeeded in the Foundation Examination which forms the prerequisite for this course.

Day Two

Attendees will now be well versed in the ‘Project Journey’ and will further study the PRINCE2 Management Products and Project Roles. Following this there is a period of review before sitting the PRINCE2 Practitioner Examination.
