Business owners and HR professionals who have a solution focused approach to managing and maintaining mental health issues in the workplace can avoid negative impacts on their business occurring.
Often basic changes in the workplace can help support individuals suffering from health issues and businesses can support them to thrive in their role appose to their role becoming a further strain on them.
It is also important for business owners to fully understand the employment law regarding mental health issues and how managing the situation in the workplace should be handled.

This workshop is for business owners, managers or HR professionals looking for ways to better manage and maintain mental health issues in the workplace and fully understand the employment law around mental health.

Who is leading this workshop?
Clare Fowler, Head of Employment and Discrimination at Howells LLP. Clare has extensive experience and expertise in dealing with a wide range of employment matters especially those involving discrimination – acting for both individuals and businesses and dealing with all stages of the matter from initial instructions to advocacy in the Employment Tribunal.
She regularly advises both employees and employers in relation to Settlement Agreements and is often able to negotiate better terms for employees than they were originally offered by their employer.
Bryan Thornton is a BACP Accredited Counsellor, Personal Development Coach, Mediator and Solution Focused Trainer with over 30 years experience. He is a Solution Focused Specialist and completed an MA in Solution Focused Brief Therapy in 2008. He works privately as a Counsellor, Coach, Mediator, Trainer and Consultant in the Solution Focused approach. He is also a qualified Social Worker, Chair of Sheffield Solutions, a local practitioner interest group and a member of BACP and UKASFP. He can offer counselling, coaching and mediation appointments at Howells Solicitors S3.
Naomi Whitehead is an NCFE Level 3 accredited Counsellor with over 20 years’ experience in the fields of substance misuse, homelessness, young people, offending, mental health and management. She is a Solution Focused Specialist and trained with BRIEF in 2003, 2004 & 2007 before qualifying with an NCFE Level 3 distinction in Solution Focused Practice in 2015. She works privately as a Trainer, Counsellor, Coach & Consultant in the Solution Focused approach. She is also on the international cooperation task group for theEuropean Brief Therapy Association and a committee member of the UK Association of Solution Focused Practice. She can offer Counselling, Supervision, Coaching and Consultancy appointments at Howells.
