The learner will be able to demonstrate an understanding of import documentation and procedures. Be able to identify customs regimes and import controls. Where to go for sources of international information and assistance.

  • The Import Order
  • Due Diligence (customs commodity codes, import licences and quotas)
  • Successful importing – EU and non EU
  • Negotiation with seller
  • Methods of Shipment
  • Terms of Payment & Delivery (including Incoterms)
  • Process to be followed
  • Documentation
  • Cost implications
  • Deferring duty & VAT
  • Duty & VAT Relief Schemes

During the course of the workshop, delegates are encouraged to discuss challenges specific to their own business, as part of the learning process.  All information shared is treated with utmost confidentiality.

This course is split over 2 half days.

Session 1: 9.00am – 12.30pm
Session 2: 12.30pm – 4.30pm
