Our unique City & Guilds Accredited Fire & Smoke Damper Awareness Training Course is for managers and specifiers who are required to understand the need for fire & smoke damper testing and inspection, and to better understand the legislation and compliance requirements in order to increase the safety of building users.
- The need for competency of staff carrying out inspections and tests
- Appropriate knowledge of statutory Regulations relating to the maintenance of ventilation systems and safe working practices
- ACOP5 (41, 42 & 43) in relation to the Workplace (Health, Safety & Welfare) Regulations 1992
- UK Fire Safety Regulations:
- The Regulatory (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (for England & Wales)
- The Fire Safety Regulations (Scotland) 2006
- The Fire Safety Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2010
- Appropriate knowledge of industry standards, guidance & specifications in relation to ventilation system fire safety
- BESA DW 145 Guide to Good Practice For the Installation of Fire and Smoke Dampers
- BESA TR19 Guide to Good Practice – Internal Cleanliness of Ventilation Systems
- BESA DW144 Specification for Sheet Metal Ductwork
