What is Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA)?
You might be thinking about selling your products on Amazon or perhaps you have been selling your products on Amazon for a while, either way this blog post will give you a better idea of how Amazon can help you save time and increase sales with Fulfilment by Amazon.
When you sign up to be a seller on Amazon and you have loaded up your products etc, the process basically is that you get an order in, you despatch and then you get paid. That’s fine if you are selling in small quantities, however, what if you are doing that 10, 15, 20 times a day?
For most small businesses it is great to see the orders coming in but it is very time consuming dealing with them!
Fulfilment by Amazon means that you can send your products to Amazon in bulk and when orders come in, Amazon will despatch your products for you from their Warehouse. So, you really aren’t doing much at all other than when your inventory is low you need to send another load ‘in bulk’. Sounds great, right? Well, I won’t argue with you there! Amazon do charge a Fulfilment Fee on each product though so it is important to check this fee beforehand.
What if you are not getting many sales through Amazon? Well, when you use Fulfilment by Amazon your products can be eligible for ‘Prime’ meaning prime customers get free next day delivery and Amazon also help market your products….
Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA) is a service Amazon offers sellers that lets them store their products in Amazon’s warehouses and Amazon directly does the packing, shipping and customer service on these items. Also, FBA items are eligible for Amazon Prime just as if they were Amazon items. – amazon.co.uk.
These are just some of the reasons why FBA is fantastic for small businesses and manufacturers looking for a direct, trusted route to market.
