Barnsley Business Centre Official Opening

We are delighted to invite you to the opening of the Barnsley Business Centre. The Business Centre is a new hub for entrepreneurs, small businesses and start-up businesses. The aim of the Business Centre is to aid talented entrepreneurs to expand their business and access a huge network of local businesses and commercial guidance in partnership with Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber of Commerce.

The space includes five incubation pods that are available to start-up businesses that are looking to grow and develop in their first 12 months. All the College asks of those small businesses engaged with the Business Centre is that they support College students through work experience or placement opportunities in order to help educate and inspire.

Barnsley and Rotherham Chamber of Commerce will provide support and guidance to start-up businesses within the local area, harbouring new ideas and creativity.

Barnsley College will open their new Business Centre on Thursday 20 October 2022. This new facility is part of the SciTech Digital Innovation Hub – previously opened by Nadhim Zahawi – based close to the Old Mill Lane campus.

The guest list will include successful businesses, local start-up businesses and entrepreneurs. David Akeroyd, Deputy Principal of Development and Productivity at Barnsley College will speak about the new Business Centre and developing the workforce to future proof the economy. Andrew Denniff, CEO of Barnsley and Rotherham Chamber of Commerce will also speak about developing relationships within the Barnsley and Rotherham area.
