Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber Announces 2024 Business Awards Shortlist

Today (Thursday, 26th September), Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber is delighted to unveil the much-anticipated shortlist for the 2024 Barnsley and Rotherham Business Awards – A Celebration of Business.

The annual business awards event, sponsored by Barnsley College, is a highlight of the local business calendar and is set to captivate audiences when it returns to Magna on the evening of Friday, 8th November 2024.

This year’s awards will celebrate the remarkable achievements across ten categories, with one winner receiving the prestigious 2024 Business of the Year award.

Carrie Sudbury, CEO of Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber of Commerce, highlighted the significance of the awards, stating:

“I want to extend my congratulations to every business that has earned a place on this year’s shortlists. The quality of entries across all categories was exceptional, making the judging process for our sponsors both rewarding and challenging. I’m excited to welcome you all to what promises to be a fantastic celebration this November.”

“Our Business Awards serve as a vital platform to showcase the businesses and individuals who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to their work and our communities across South Yorkshire. It’s a special evening where our local business community comes together to honour the talent and achievements that drive Barnsley and Rotherham forward.”

Sponsored by Barnsley College, this year’s ceremony will be a night to remember, featuring ten distinct awards categories. These will honour excellence in fields such as Sustainability, Commitment to People Development, Business Growth, and Community Impact plus the addition of the Large Business of the Year award which will recognise some of the most influential businesses in our region. Additionally, five local charities have been shortlisted for the highly sought-after Charity of the Year award, which includes a generous cash prize and continued support in 2024/25 as the Chamber’s Charity of the Year.

Individual achievements will also be celebrated with the Apprentice of the Year and Businessperson of the Year awards. These individual awards will highlight people who have made outstanding contributions to their organisations and the broader community.

With an evening packed full of entertainment, surprises, and recognition of long-standing businesses celebrating milestone anniversaries in 2024, this year’s Barnsley and Rotherham Business Awards promises to be a spectacular celebration of local business excellence.

Now that the shortlist has been revealed, excitement for the 2024 Barnsley and Rotherham Business Awards is reaching fever pitch. Tickets are expected to sell out fast, as the Chamber’s local business community eagerly anticipates this unmissable event.
