Amy Garcia to Host the Barnsley and Rotherham Business Awards 2024 

The Barnsley and Rotherham Business Awards, hosted by Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber of Commerce and proudly sponsored by Barnsley College, are delighted to announce that Amy Garcia is back for a second year running to host the highly anticipated 2024 awards ceremony. Set to unfold on Friday, 8th November 2024, at the illustrious Magna Science Adventure Centre in Rotherham, this event will celebrate the exceptional accomplishments of businesses in Barnsley and Rotherham. 

Amy Garcia, a prominent TV personality across Yorkshire, has graced the screens as the anchor of BBC Look North for an impressive decade. Known for her forthright demeanour and her knack for putting people at ease, Amy has earned the trust and respect of her audience. Her unwavering presence during the pandemic was a beacon of reliability for the local community. 

Amy’s adventurous spirit and unyielding commitment to challenges are well documented. From cycling the 250-mile Tour de France route across Yorkshire on a tandem for Sport Relief to dragging the Look North sofa 150 miles through harsh weather conditions, her dedication is inspiring. Amy’s charitable endeavours are equally remarkable, having abseiled down a 120-foot building, been strapped to an airplane, and ventured into the caves beneath the Yorkshire Dales, all in support of Children in Need.

Now in its fifteenth year, the Barnsley and Rotherham Business Awards have established themselves as a prestigious platform to recognise excellence, innovation, and success across various sectors. This year, the awards introduce an exciting new category: Large Business of the Year, which will honour anchor organisations from across the region who set examples, support the local community and have a real passion for social value.  

Businesses of all sizes and sectors within South Yorkshire’s ‘S’ postcode area, as well as members of the Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber of Commerce, are invited to participate by submitting nominations. The nomination period is open now and will close on 5pm, Monday, 9^th September 2024. Individuals and organisations are encouraged to nominate deserving businesses that have made a significant impact in their respective categories. 

The awards ceremony promises to be a remarkable evening of celebration and networking, uniting local businesses, members, and professionals. It will showcase the outstanding accomplishments of businesses in Barnsley and Rotherham and encouraging further growth within the region.
