Morthyng is delighted to retain its Ofsted Grade 2 – GOOD for the 26th year since inspections began in 1998

Chris MacCormac, CEO of Morthyng Group Ltd is delighted that this Rotherham based Charitable Education Provider established in 1988, and now operational in 5 UK counties has been graded “GOOD” by Ofsted in May 2024.

Chris said, “This is the 26th year of Grade 2 good since inspections began in 1998, initially by the “Training Standards Council” and then the “Adult Learning Inspectorate” from 2010 by Ofsted”.

Supported by the National “Association of Education & Learning Providers” association that Morthyng are the only Independent Learning Provider to have sustained 26 years consistently at Grade 2 – GOOD.

The report finds Morthyng to be a provider that understands and supports its learners and the learner’s feel safe, valued and supported constantly. The teaching and sequencing is, good supported by a vibrant and well established and committed Management and Governance board.

Morthyng operates in Rotherham, Birkenhead, Warrington, Corby and Rugby, delivering to 16 to 19 year olds in Math & English and Vocational Skills. Morthyng learners have in 2021/22 and 2022/23, achieved higher that national average in All Aims, Functional Skills, GCSE Math’s & English. We have also achieved higher outcomes for learners than all the FE Colleges and Independent Training Providers in Rotherham, Birkenhead, Warrington, Corby and Rugby.


For the 2024/25 Educational Year, we still have space for learners to join and begin their steps to a brighter future in all our areas of operation.
