Remuneration: Unremunerated Trustee role

 

The Source Academy was established in 2003 in Sheffield and is an approved skills academy centre, delivering high quality apprenticeships and training to young people and adults. It offers flexible apprenticeship programmes in a wide range of occupational areas and works with organisations to identify the right mix of training and qualifications to meet business needs, in both the Sheffield City Region and nationally. It also offers conferencing facilities for the local community and businesses. The Source Academy consists of two trading entities, Meadowhall Training Ltd and Meadowhall Education Centre, which is a Charity.

The Source Academy’s mission is “To be an ‘Outstanding’ provider of education and training which meets the needs of young people and adults by providing them with the skills to improve their economic futures and those of the businesses in which they work”. It is passionate about its work with the local community and beyond.

The Source Academy (Meadowhall Training Ltd) was rated ‘Good’ at its Ofsted inspection in 2017 and our apprentices and partnerships have won regional and national awards, such as the Retail Week Rising Star Awards 2017 and National Apprenticeship Advanced Apprentice of the year 2016.

The Source Academy are looking to strengthen their Board and are seeking individuals with experience in any of the following areas: Education and Training, Finance, Land and Property, Third Sector, IT/Technology and Employer/Business. They are looking for dynamic, engaged individuals who will provide leadership and experience, as well as challenge.

Please note that these Charity Trustee positions are unremunerated although expenses will be paid.

Board meetings are scheduled to take place for a half day, four times a year, however, some additional meetings occasionally take place throughout the year when needs arise.
